Has anyone else actually been afraid of one of their characters before? Photoshop froze twice when I was doodling him which made him seem somehow even creepier. He was originally not scary at all too.

Playing with the watercolor looking brush. I actually think this brush and I could get along quite well if I practiced with it some more. I also filled up a page by hand but am not going to take the time to scan it. Drawing by hand is so fast because it's so small.

Drew some more this...then started my sketchy commission. Will post it tomorrow after I have drawn the second half of it.

More copying...think I may need to pick a different person for Ryuu this one feels off. Not that it really matters since I'm going to change it anyway.

Post 31

Taking the reality approach today.

Playing, used references.

Copied references of a real person that I think looks the most like her so it's easier to try and edit to fit what I want later.

Tried anime expressions just for kicks. Taken from some anime expression chart thing somewhere. Sorry I am lame and not citing stuff because it would take a couple hours to do that. Nobody really looks at this stuff except me anyway.

Will do the same thing with Ryuu. Maybe I will figure out where I'm going with this style thing soon.

Somehow the 5-10 minute things done at the end of the day are the most fun haha. I wanted to play with the leaf and grass brushes.

Paintchatting again for a bit. Works pretty well to get me to draw but I only seem to do it for more than a drawing or two if people actually interact with me haha. :P

Post 23

Umm I did draw something yesterday for my niece I was babysitting but then I fell asleep at like 10pm so...nothing new digitally. Five minute (timed) drawing go!

Tried a paint-chatting game today. Should be less busy after this weekend and have more time to spend drawing.

I'm not sure if copying will make me any better at drawing alone but it's worth a shot. I figure if it works it'll work like exercise...you can't tell right away. XD

I tried paintchatting. This is super fun. Come paint chat with me, you know you want to. I'll draw your characters if you do. :D

The feeling of too much to do looming always makes me feel like I have no time to draw even when I do. Here are some brief impressions of my mood. I feel like you can tell when I feel stressed because I draw badly on purpose unless I stop myself. It's like my hands just want to draw the lines in the wrong direction and say, "hah I don't have to worry about a thing I will simply make lines."

Also a quotation from Picasso that was on the wall of the elementary school I visited today: "I am always doing that which I cannot do in order that I may learn how to do it." Coming from the man who apparently saved all of his fingernail clippings. How neat is it that Picasso managed to sum up the purpose of this blog for me. XD

Today I made a cut paper thank you card styled after Chii rather than drawing on my tablet. I've kept this up for ten days now, huzzah.

Why do I keep reading "beat peace" after saving the file as "beatpeace.jpg" when I was originally thinking "be at peace." What a weird coincidence that adding or removing a space can give something the opposite meaning. You have to love English.

Post 9 (number 2)

The post number is actually the day sorry if that's confusing. Having a you suck moment and have sentenced myself to copying manga. Not writing titles in the page to avoid evil google searches but I will try to write it at the top of the drawing. Need to stop for now though so I can make myself work on papers for class. Who knows, maybe I will actually learn how to draw if I spend 90% of my free time doing it. We will see how long I can keep this up. I'll switch to a different character/style when the manga runs out or I get tired of her. This will hopefully help massively with speed as well, I spend too much time redrawing stuff before actually getting anything good. I am constantly thinking about drawing but not doing it because of a demon that sits on my shoulder telling me I suck. I have decided that this is not ok.

Not that anybody is reading this anyway haha. I'll do my best to get better so I can start my own comic. Will start storyboarding soon since that doesn't require too much in the way of artistic skill.

#@$% You.

It's so liberating to just let my hands draw terribly and not pay attention to techniques like using construction or being consistent. :P
